Health, Safety and the Environment are very important issues to DSL Thailand and we have a full HSE team with a professional level manager who operate our safety system in accordance with the Safety Manual. Training and safety awareness is an ongoing activity and we are constantly striving to improve our level of competence.

Training
Training is an essential activity within DSL Thailand and we have professional expatriate personnel giving trade training and assessments in all disciplines. In addition our trainers have or are in the process of qualifying through “Train the Trainer” courses held in the UK which will
allow DSL Thailand to tutor and approve our Thai personnel to UK approved standards in the position of trainers themselves.

Quality Assurance & Control
DSL ( UK ) are fully accredited to ISO 9001:2000 and our Thailand operation is currently undergoing the process of achieving independent ISO accreditation. Our Quality Manual is an adaptation of the UK manual with only slight adjustments to comply with Thai laws, regulations and common practices. The quality of our work to date is equal to the requirements of international operators such as Chevron, Unocal, Alcan and we are always pushing to improve. We are in the process of having our Thai personnel gain international certification from bodies such as NACE in the painting discipline and CITB within scaffolding.

Historica Deborah Services ( Thailand ) Ltd. are a subsidiary of Deborah Services Limited ( UK ) and are registered as a company in accordance with Thai law. Our parent company was formed over 30 years as a scaffolding contractor and has since grown to be the largest privately owned multi discipline contractor in the UK. At one time DSL became a part of the Rentokil Initial group but returned to private ownership via a management buyout in the year 2000. Services Provided DSL Thailand provide BS scaffolding ( both materials and construction methods ), abrasive blasting and industrial coating application, industrial insulation, intumescent fireproofing and manpower supply. Fields of Operation In Thailand our core business area is in petrochemical and fabrication industries both onshore and offshore and we have been operating here for over 10 years. Current projects in which we are supplying services include offshore platform fabrication , modular plant assembly and offshore construction & maintenance projects. Financial Status As a subsidiary of DSL ( UK ) we enjoy the backing of a large and financially sound business complete with global insurance cover at a level necessary for large scale projects, particularly offshore works. Capability We retain a large stock of BS scaffold in Thailand and have full access to parent company stock and suppliers, full sheet metal fabrication workshop for insulation and a substantial stock of industrial painting equipment. 		Employee Welfare and Development It is our intention to ensure that the welfare and prospects of all personnel are considered seriously and we comply with all Thai laws and regulations regarding health and social welfare issues. Our aim is to have all personnel medically checked on an annual basis in accordance with government regulations. We offer free English lessons to all personnel who wish to participate as the use of this language is becoming more important when working for international organizations. Having a good level of English is also important when training personnel and enrolling them on trade body courses to improve their positions. All PPE and work related garments are of a good quality, comply with government standards and are provided free to all employees. The Future in Thailand for DSL We are fully committed to a long term future in Thailand. Our goal is to provide a first class ,fully “multi discipline” workforce this being that our personnel will not be limited to one trade but will be capable of competently carrying out multiple disciplines such as scaffolding \ insulation or painting\ scaffolding etc. This goal is based on the philosophy of maximum efficiency in the use of human resources which is particularly important in offshore situations where accommodation is at a premium and the logistics of providing all required support trades is substantially more of a challenge than in an onshore workplace. To this end we are currently “double skilling” personnel and have used this technique successfully on previous vessel based operations in the Gulf of Thailand on new offshore installation works for both Chevron and Unocal facilities. DSL are a market leader for this service in the UK and we intend to be the same here in Thailand.
